One of the charms of my chicken quilts is that I feel no necessity to make a particular breed of chicken. This pair started with the improbable fabric on the lower breast of the foremost hen, and went on from there. It took some time to find what pleased me for the background until I stumbled upon my stash of indigo-dyed batiks.
