Spirals fascinate me. There are many in nautre, including the spirals of fiddleheads in early spring that unfold into ferns. Spiral forms also appear frequently in manmade designs, including the bow and stern posts of the Oseberg ship, inspired most probably by the same fiddlehead sources.
