Carpenter Gothic with Fuschias

While working on the quilt of Fuschias at the back of this construction, I was reading a book about Carpenter Gothic Architecture. I saw visual parallels between the shapes of the fuschias and some of the standard shapes used in Carpenter Gothic fretwork.

This realization lead to the construction of the white fabric frame, sewn in many different white fabrics, right sides together with very heavy interfacing, trimmed, turned right side out and pressed. There is a rod through a casing at the top of the railing. The rest of the frame is hanging with Velcro from a white wooden box at the top of the quilt. The open-work frame casts a shadow onto the quilt and the wall against which it is hanging.
